The Year of Rabbit and new Monomochi T-shirt designs

As you all know, 2011 is the year of Rabbit in the Chinese Lunar Year calender. Therefore, to celebrate this, i've created a Choy Sun (the god who brings wealth to families) version with the monomochi design logo.

The following are new design concepts for T-Shirts of Monomochi Design.

The design comes in two colors, white and black. Features the monomochi design text and logo.

This is another recent design by Monomochi Design.
This design plays with the individual CMYK colors, composition and shape.
This design comes in four colors, with the silhouette in Blue, Pink, Yellow and Black.

Petstore and iPhone App

Hey folks! I've decided to start my own online petstore.

Ruff Pets is created to promote awareness to dog owners and lovers the importance of looking after your pet's health. Raising a dog is not just a matter of spending money and playing with it from time to time, but a matter of patience, responsibility and love. Remember, a dog is a lifetime commitment. Ruff Pets imports products from Australia and many of which are hard to be found in Hong Kong. We sell a range of items from food, toys, clothes through to bedding, toiletries, and healthcare.

Ruff Pets's commitment is to make every dog a happy dog in its lifetime :)

For more information, please visit RuffPet's facebook page.

So how does this have anything to do with art & design? well...basically all the promotional items like website, banner, namecard, etc. will be created by myself and so far im halfway complete with the website. Heres a sneak peak!

I particularly like the buttons ive created at the top

Im trying out a new way to build a website this time. Im going to splice it up in photoshop and export it to dreamweaver instead of the traditional coding.

Besides starting up my own company atm, im also working on creating an iphone app for RuffPets with my Multimedia friend Twinsen.

Search Engine Optimization

Here I am studying for my User Experience Exam tomorrow, listening to our guest lecturer talking about Search Engine Optimization.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) by definition is the process of improving visibility of a website in a search engine. These process can be done natural search results. But ofcourse, in the real world, if you have a new site, how can people find it?

Google ranks a website out of its importance Newly built websites start off by having a ranking of "0". As time goes by, when the domain has been registered long enough, its rank gets upgraded. Besides waiting for time to pass, other factors such as having a lot of incoming links, outbound links and a lot of traffic will also increase your chances of having your website published in a higher place in Google's search engine.

To have your website being found, it is important to have keywords embeded into your Metadata. It is also suggested that by repeating these keywords will increase your chances of getting bumped up by Google's search engine. Ofcourse, if you start spamming the same word accross your page, Google will also bump you down. That is why, it is important to keep a density of using keywords (8% frequency usage, and appropriate usage). However, if you only use these keywords in your metadata and fail to use them in your context, Google will also not use them and thus, you will not be upgraded to the top of the search results.

So keep this in mind folks! The next time you build a website, do remember to put keywords in your metadata and USE them in your context. ;)

Name card design

With World Cup going on, ive been staying up late and getting up late lately :P

So ive been redesigning my namecard and have just began working on a new website for myself and for the Monash Hong Kong Student Association.

Some of my name card designs are as follow:

The front of the name card is pretty much complete. Just the back where all the information goes need to be decided....If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know :)

What im thinkin of is to have the front white area holographic like this one below:

//http://www.kenichi-design.com

As for the back, i was thinkin of holographic just the text for the 1st design.

see how it goes...
